Five year old Chloe McClure is like many kids her age – she enjoys school and loves to tease her brothers and sister each day. After several surgeries to repair her heart, Chloe could also be considered somewhat of a miracle.

At just one week old, tiny Chloe suffered a small stroke and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Chloe was hospitalized the majority of her first six months of life and at just two months old, she required a valve replacement as well as three surgeries to repair several holes in her heart. In between these surgeries, Chloe was a regular at St. Luke’s in both the Pediatric Department and the Emergency Department.

In December of 2008 Chloe had her most complex and life-threatening heart surgery to-date. She had two valves replaced in her heart in a surgery that is typically performed on patients much older. Chloe made it through the surgery with flying colors and was soon back home to tease her siblings.

The future looks bright for Miss Chloe thanks to her determined spirit, the care she receives at St. Luke’s and support from Children’s Miracle Network.
