Damon Dotson at Fridays on the Promenade tonight!
June 27th, 2008 6:58 AM

Tonight is the second Fridays on the Promenade concert of the 2008 summer season. The show starts at 6 pm, and is done by 8 pm, and is held in front of the Promenade Theater, around the Roth Fountain, at 4th and Virginia. In case you have never been to one of these events, Fridays on the Promenade is a summer long outdoor concert series, held every-other Friday night through September. A different musical act is brought in for each show, with musical styles ranging from rock, to blues, to bluegrass. Admission is only $2, and there is a cash bar and food available. The shows are a lot of fun, and don’t take up your entire night. There is limited seating, so you may want to bring a lawn chair with you.

You can check out the website at www.fridaysonthepromenade.com.

The concert series started out big two weeks ago with Fat Tuesday and the Greasefire Horns putting on an awesome show to almost 500 people! Tonight’s musical guest is Damon Dotson. Listen to some of his music at www.myspace.com/damondotson.

Which road to take to get from Point A to Point B
June 9th, 2008 1:06 PM

Did you notice that Pro-Link Realty offers Driving Directions on the front page of our website.  I am getting ready to head on a road trip and thought I better pull up the driving directions on the internet before I hop in the car.  Typically I use sites like mapquest or google or AAA, but today I tried one of our Pro-Link Realty tools.

Once you click on the page, you enter the stops you plan to make.  Then put them in the order you plan to stop at the different sites and click on GET DIRECTIONS.  This not only works with trip planning, but also home looking.  Try it the next time you need directions to get from Point A to Point B.

Understanding Feng Shui in Personal and Business Relationships
June 5th, 2008 8:20 AM

Have you ever wondered if there is a foolproof way to determine if you will be compatible with someone before you start down that (sometimes) slippery slope towards a full blown relationship.  Not surprisingly, Feng Shui has a methodology to determine with whom you will be compatible in either personal or business relationships. It has to do with concentrating your relationships to those with a similar Kua number.

Determining your Kua number is simple, all you need do is add together the last two numbers of the year in which you were born. If that number is more than a single digit add them together again until you get a single digit number.

Now, if you are male deduct your number from 10 to get your Kua number. If you are female add 5 to your number. Again, if the resulting number is greater than 9 you need to add the digits together again to arrive at a single digit number to get your Kua number.

Everyone with Kua numbers 2, 5, 6, 7, and 8 belong to what’s called the West group and share similar characteristics, preferences, and desires. Numbers 1, 3, 4, and 9 belong to the East group and likewise have a natural affinity for others in the same group.

Feng Shui proponents maintain that people should search out people from their same group when they engage in business and personal relationships. So, if you are a male with a Kua number of 2 then you should seek out those partners that also have Kua numbers in the West group. Likewise for the East group. There is thought to be an essential and elemental commonality inherent in the group that is difficult to identify but is, nonetheless, present.

People rarely interact in simple and uncomplicated ways. And our relationships often have as much or more meaning in business situations as those that are personal in nature. So, when we find ourselves picking our next business partner we might want to check their Kua number to see if we’ll be compatible.

Even the strongest followers admit that there are exceptions and even people from two different groups can co-exist and have meaningful relationships. But it would be a unique individual, indeed, that didn’t have at least one experience where the person with which they fined themselves interacting is incompatible, incorrigible, or downright mean. At the same time we all have had experiences where we just seemed to “click” with the other person.

It could very well be that there is a grand master and puppeteer vexing certain combinations of people and their relationships.

Just as likely there is but essential natures that either mix or act like oil and water.

But, consider another theory for a minute. An ancient and invisible force releases energy into a strange and alien wind that blows in various ways over us and stamps each of us with a number.

A number that imbues us with a natural affinity for others.
